If you are thinking about becoming an entrepreneur, then you need to know what it takes to be one. Here are key elements to discover if being an entrepreneur is right for you.

The Heart

There are some people that feel they have no other choice but to start their own business, when in actual fact they just want a good job. These entrepreneurs are then forced and whilst some will become the next big thing, many won’t be able to stick it out in the long run. You will then need to do some hard thinking and determine if you are going towards your vision of a business owner or you are actually just running away from a problem.

The Support

Before you begin your business you will need to have a strong support system in place. Your first support will be your family. If you find they are not completely convinced by your idea then you have more work to do. You need to get your immediate support system on board so that you have a better chance of convincing others like your bank or potential customers.

The Reserves

The wisdom is that you will need to 6 to 12 months of living expenses in the bank so that you are able to live until your business takes off. However, this really isn’t enough as you may find that you need at least 5 years of capital saved. This is a lot, but most new businesses fail because they run out of cash. You need to have a large bankroll then so that you can cater for any circumstance that comes your way.
